14. Representatives

I have changed my representative. What should I do?

Write to us and your solicitor/representative to tell us immediately. If your hearing is scheduled within the next 7 days you should fax or write to the hearing centre where your case is to be heard as soon as possible and no later than 2 business days (business days mean Monday – Friday, UK holidays do not count as business days) before the hearing to inform them of the change. It would be helpful if you could supply the hearing date and your appeal number.

Your solicitor/advisor/representative must confirm this in writing to us. If they will not do this you must write and tell us. Until you have another solicitor, advisor or representative you must attend any hearings yourself. If you do not do so your appeal may be decided in your absence.
